The successful applicant will develop a motivated and empowered Meetings & Events Sales Office Team, driving the team to spend time on ROI activities – to achieve results including:
- Budgeted revenue, per month, per segment
- Optimal diary management
- Upselling revenue target
- Conversion targets
- Rebook / Lead generation targets
- Fantastic communication to operations teams and clients via weekly function sheets
- Timely and accurate payment for all client events
- The ongoing training and development of the teams within the sales office.
- Maintaining an environment of pro-activity, creativity, and an appetite for over-achievement.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- To instil a fun and engaging work environment for all team members to enjoy with consistent activities such as themed conversion days, spot incentives and celebrations. Appraise staff on a regular basis and maintain a stable, motivated workforce.
- Support in the planning of key bookings from all segments within the sales office and support in conducting hotel show rounds.
- Ensure the consistent accuracy of conference, special event and wedding booking enquiries within company systems and ensure all enquiries are responded to in a professionally and timely manner.
- Ensure whole team works closely with the Proactive Sales Team to identify existing and potential customers in order to develop the business.
- To be involved with the development of the pricing structures and packages used by the team, always reviewing in line with extending opportunities.
- Responsible for the configuration of the system and ensuring all packages and templates are loaded correctly.
- Ensure effective management of the Conference & Banqueting diary and control option business to maintain a clean diary and optimize conversion levels.
- Ensure all the teams are set targets and aware of the selling strategies to achieve these.
- Take an active involvement in hotel sales initiatives, i.e. hosting Fam trips and attending hotel tradeshows.
- Effectively deal with customer feedback according to the company procedure.
- Ensure that communication with the hotel in the form of function sheets is accurate and delivered in a timely manner and host a weekly operations meeting where all aspects of forthcoming Weddings, Conference and Events and Groups are discussed in detail with the relevant departments.
- Ensure that deposits are received for bookings and full payment is made prior to any events taking place without (sufficient) credit.
- To ensure the daily revenue within the C&B department is captured and charged and billing is completed daily.
- To host a daily morning meeting with the sales team to communicate daily business and understand teams daily activity.
- Completion of monthly reporting as required for sales meeting and explanation/understanding of key variances in business and future strategies.
The Ideal Candidate
- To be successful in this role, you will need a solid track record of achievement in the service or hospitality industry and a thorough understanding of hotel operating procedures.
- Great leadership skills are essential, with the ability to manage people and have an influence and persuasiveness to ensure the teams perform at their best.
- Commercial awareness of the conference and events market is essential, alongside a level of creativity and innovation to excel within this market.
- You will need great interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate your teams.
